Brigadier General Amir Rastegari, the chief executive officer of Iran Electronics Industries (IEI), told IRNA that the country now possesses the capability to produce defensive equipment across various domains.
"In the defense sectors, over 90% of the equipment and systems available to our powerful Armed Forces have been completely designed and manufactured by the industrial organizations of the Defense Ministry and their collaborating networks, Rastegari stated on Sunday.
He added that IEI has developed defense technologies in space, air, sea, land, and submarine sectors. "To date, more than 7,000 systems have been produced in various fields and delivered to the Armed Forces," he said.
Iran now operates domestically manufactured modern vessels, Rastegari noted, emphasizing advancements in telecommunications, radar, electronic warfare, fire control, and sonar systems. He highlighted the Dena destroyer, which joined the Iranian Navy in 2022 and has since traveled over 55,000 kilometers across five oceans.
"This demonstrates the country's defense industry power, which is capable of producing equipment that can safely navigate in harsh oceanic conditions, he asserted.
Despite sanctions and foreign pressure, Irans defense industry continues to progress, Rastegari said, stressing that the country is prepared to respond to threats in line with international treaties.
Iranian experts have made significant advancements in indigenous military technology, achieving self-sufficiency in various defense sectors. Officials have repeatedly stated that Iran will not compromise on its military capabilities, particularly its missile program, which is strictly defensive.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has repeatedly called for efforts to maintain and boost Irans defense capabilities, decrying enemies for questioning the countrys missile program.
