Mutual congratulations were exchanged on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif in a telephone conversation on Monday.
The Pakistani premier expressed hope that the great Islamic occasion would help forge peace across the globe, including in war-ravaged Gaza.
He also praised Iran for its principled stances in support of the ideal of al-Quds.
Sharif emphasized that Pakistan and Iran should boost their cultural and economic relations.
As a friend of Iran, Pakistan will never allow its soil to be used for causing harm to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Pakistani prime minister stated.
For his part, President Pezeshkian said the holy month of Ramadan reminds Muslims that they should care about each other.
He also expressed hope that the Islamic countries would enhance their unity in order to take a strong stance against the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.
The Iranian president noted that the religious beliefs and cultural commonalities have created unbreakable bonds between the Iranian and Pakistani nations.
