In an interview with ICANA on Sunday, Araqchi said Iran favors diplomacy and negotiations, albeit indirectly, with the US.
He noted that the two sides have not held any round of talks yet.
Asked about the recent comments from US Senator Tom Cotton that the US prefers a deal with Iran like the one Washington struck with Libya in 2003, Araqchi said, Only in dreams.
He also commented on a recent meeting that French President Emmanuel Macron held with his key ministers and experts to discuss Iran, saying, They have proposed their own assessments. Any country can have its own analyses and evaluations, but if they take any measure in this regard, they will be deemed to be complicit in an action against our country.
Last week, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said while Tehran has ruled out the possibility of direct talks with the US in its reply to a letter from Trump, it has considered indirect negotiations as a viable option.
Pezeshkian has announced that the only trouble in the course of interaction has been a lack of commitment on the part of the US, stressing that mistakes need to be made up for and trust must be rebuilt.
This will be the manner of Americans that would determine the continuity of the course of negotiations, the Iranian president said on March 30.
