In a meeting held in Islamabad on Monday, Prime Minister Sharif and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi talked about a wide range of issues concerning the bilateral relations and cooperation in the political, security, economic, commercial, and cultural fields.
The Pakistani prime minister highlighted the strong determination to continuously enhance relations and interaction between the two neighbors and promote their cooperation at the multilateral level and within the international organizations.
He also underscored the importance of identifying and using all available possibilities of Islamabad and Tehran to this end.
For his part, Araqchi highlighted Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkians commitment to promoting comprehensive relations with the neighboring countries and highlighted the special status of Pakistan in Irans foreign policy as well as Irans determination to expand ties with its Muslim neighbor.
The foreign minister further referred to the shared opportunities and challenges facing Iran and Pakistan and underscored the importance of continued engagement between senior officials of the two countries, along with ongoing consultations at various levels, to seize the opportunities, secure the mutual interests, and address the shared challenges, the ministrys website reported.
He also warned of the Zionist regimes ongoing massacre and genocidal crimes in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as its repeated acts of aggression against the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Lebanon and Syria. Araqchi then cautioned against the Israeli regimes dangerous objectives to drag the region into war and jeopardize its overall stability and security.
The Iranian minister appreciated the Pakistani government and peoples principled positions and supports for the oppressed people of Palestine.
He finally stressed the necessity for close consultation and coordination among the influential Islamic countries, especially within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to adopt a unified and firm stance against the Zionist regimes violations of international law.
