Denouncing the Israeli atrocities in Gaza, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei called for an end to the ethnic cleansing in the enclave and to the Zionist leaders impunity.
He deplored the relentless Israeli crimes against the defenseless people of Palestine in Gaza and the West Bank, condemned the brutal strikes on the makeshift camps of the displaced people and the medical centers of Gaza that have killed and injured hundreds of people in the past recent days, and highlighted the direct responsibility of the political and military sponsors of the Israeli regime, particularly the US and the UK.
After bringing the efforts of the mediators at a ceasefire agreement to failure in this stage, the Zionist regime has intensified its criminal attacks with the purpose of imposing its illegitimate demands and displacing the residents of Gaza, Baqaei added, noting that such plot will definitely meet with heroic resistance of Palestinians.
The spokesman then slammed the process of normalization of the brazen violations of human rights and international humanitarian law in Gaza and the West Bank as an irreparable catastrophe for the United Nations and the international law system.
Each and every one of the governments and also the UN secretary general are legally and morally responsible for ending the genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Zionist regime in Gaza and the West Bank, he stated, calling for serious and immediate action in this regard.
The Israeli forces continue bombarding Gaza. The Zionists forces have killed at least 97 Palestinians since dawn Sunday, including 36 in the so-called safe zone of al-Mawasi.
The intensified attacks come as the Israeli regime mobilizes for a new ground assault on Gaza.
Israels war on Gaza has killed at least 53,272 Palestinians and wounded 120,673, according to Gazas Health Ministry. The Government Media Office updated the death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of people missing under the rubble are presumed dead.
