In comments after a high-profile meeting of the air defense units on Monday, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said the countrys air defense capabilities and preparedness have improved greatly.
He noted that certain sections of the Air Defense units have experienced a fivefold increase compared with last year in the number of radars, monitoring systems, and detection equipment used for tracking the hostile moves.
The Air Defense capabilities in the fire control systems, interception, and detonation of intruding aerial targets have improved by two to three times in some cases, the general stated.
He added that Irans airspace is being monitored constantly and the Armed Forces are a hundred percent prepared.
The volume of investment in the fortification of Irans Air Defense has risen by several times, he noted.
